New Entrepreneurial Network Alert

The Beat, a newsletter by local entrepreneurship news outlet Minne Inno, highlighted the U of M's role in the new Midwest Executives-on-Roster network.

The University of Minnesota has announced that it will be a part of a new network that includes 10 other Midwestern universities' transfer offices. The goal is to help bridge a leadership gap in area entrepreneurial ecosystems by giving universities great access to talent. Dubbed the Midwest Executives-on-Roster, the software platform is led by the University of Kentucky’s Office of Technology Commercialization.

"Leadership is just as important as intellectual property to a startup’s success," said Mary MacCarthy, Venture Center program manager with the U’s Venture Center in the Office for Technology Commercialization. "The biggest challenge the U of M has with launching our startups is finding skilled, available CEOs with experience in particular industries."
