U of M startup Calyxt, based on discoveries by Prof. Dan Voytas, has developed healthier soybean oil using cutting-edge gene editing techniques that allow scientists to make faster, more precise improvements to crops.
“I never anticipated the speed at which the field developed,” Voytas said, loping through the humid greenhouses where Calyxt is growing leafy jungles of experimental soybeans, wheat and canola.
