On Friday, May 27, 12 startups participated in Walleye Tank, a life science pitch competition produced by UMN Tech Comm and the Mayo Clinic to highlight companies that are tackling challenging healthcare problems in unique ways. The event was held at the Carlson School of Management and livestreamed for those attending virtually. Participants pitched to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs and investors who then selected the winners:

Student Division: FREEPhase, pitched by Efrain Torres
Juniors Division: Rehabnetics, pitched by Naveen Elangovan
Mid-Level Reelers Division: Q-Rounds, pitched by Michael Pitt and John Sartori
Professional Division: CoraVie MEDICAL, pitched by Aimee Garza

The first three winners are UMN startups, and CoraVie MEDICAL went through the Discovery Launchpad MN program, a collaboration between the University and the state’s Launch Minnesota Program. Congratulations to all four who will automatically go to the semi-final round of the MN Cup.
