Celebrate GIS Day with us at the 2019 Spatial Forum on November 13. The UMN Spatial Forum is a yearly event highlighting spatial research, teaching, and outreach. This event is free and open to the public and features lighting talks, research exhibits, conversation, and the Borchert Lecture.
This workshop will present strategies and best practices for making your research accessible to community partners and public audiences. Topics will include writing for non-academic audiences, telling stories with data through data visualization, presenting your ideas through effective slide presentation design, and making documents accessible to people with disabilities.
This seven-hour workshop introduces participants to using a geographic information system (GIS) to analyze data and create maps, using Esri Desktop, ArcMap. If you are new to GIS, this workshop is a good choice for you.
