University researchers helped the Vercise Deep Brain Stimulation System for Parkinson's treatment reach FDA approval.
Led by neurology department chairman Dr. Jerrold Vitek and backed by the state-funded MnDRIVE research program, the U of M Medical School played a key role in the multi-site “INTREPID” clinical study, which was completed shortly before the FDA decision.
