About the Conference

The University of Minnesota is growing its national security-related research activities and plans to launch a new institute to coordinate efforts in this space. The overarching goal of NSRI Day is to identify the research gaps and challenges in six areas that were identified of high interest to the national security community:

  • Hypersonics
  • Data Science & AI
  • Geospatial Imaging
  • Microelectronics
  • Materials in Extreme Environment
  • Medical Solutions for Service Members

This event brings together thought leaders, policymakers, researchers, and industry experts to explore the latest developments and to learn about the fundamental advances taking place in each of these technical areas. The event will feature keynote presentations, invited talks, breakout discussions, and poster sessions, providing an excellent opportunity to engage with researchers and technological leaders in the field and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of national security. The agenda will be regularly updated as we finalize the speakers.
