Amendments
Submit an amendment when making changes to experimental protocols, adding new infectious agents, moving to a new research space, or making other changes that might alter the biosafety risks associated with the protocol.
Additionally, amendments should be used to report changes to laboratory staff, new sources of funding, and changes or additions of titles.
Most changes to experimental procedures will require full committee review. Changes in funding, personnel, and updating biosafety cabinet dates are reviewed administratively.
Request IBC approval for changes in experimental activities:
- Submit an amendment in eProtocol
- Your submission should include changes in the protocol, and updated attachments requiring modification due to the proposed change. See the Create Amendments job aid.
- New experimental procedures should not begin until we have approved the amendment
Changing or adding titles to a protocol already approved by the IBC
A title can be added or changed in the "Study Objectives" section within an amendment.
Adding a new funding source to a protocol
A new funding source can be added through the “funding” section of an amendment. Sponsored Projects Administration tracks funding and IBC approval through the “Funding” section of eProtocol.
Changing the personnel in my approved IBC protocol
