Help Us Celebrate Our Lab Animal Techs in February

February marks our annual recognition of Research Animal Resources (RAR) staff, coinciding with International Laboratory Animal Technician Week (February 1–7, 2026). Join us in honoring the professionals who ensure the wellbeing of research animals and support the integrity of scientific studies within our facilities.

RAR husbandry and technical staff keep our program running smoothly every day. Beyond maintaining supplies and providing daily animal care, their ability to monitor and promptly communicate health concerns or abnormalities is critical to protecting research outcomes. Their attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare make them indispensable members of every research team.

Show Your Appreciation

  • Send a Note: Please email a note of gratitude to Christine Rohlf ([email protected]) by Monday, January 26. We will compile these notes to share with RAR staff on Monday, February 2.
  • Supporting Science Seminar: Consider participating  in a Supporting Science Seminar. These quarterly sessions give research groups an opportunity to highlight their work and demonstrate how RAR staff contribute to data quality and scientific success. If your lab is interested in presenting, please contact Jennifer Jecha ([email protected]).
