We are pleased to announce that Dr. Giuseppe Dell'Anna, DVM, DACLAM has been selected as an AAALAC International Ad Hoc Visitor for a three-year term beginning September 1, 2026.
In this role, he will represent AAALAC by traveling to other research facilities and institutions to assist in conducting and evaluating site visits for accreditation purposes. His responsibilities will include reviewing institutional program descriptions, participating in facility assessments, and evaluating animal care and use programs operations to ensure alignment with international animal welfare standards
This appointment will require him to navigate the complexities of modern animal care programs while adhering to a strict code of ethics and confidentiality. Additionally, by observing how diverse institutions address complex challenges in species-specific care and research methodology, Dr. Dell’Anna can bring back practical ideas and best practices to further enhance the "culture of care" within our own program.
