Research Animal Resources (RAR) is excited to announce the winners of the 2026 Patrick J. Manning Award: V Pszczolkowski, PhD, and Zach Seeman (pictured).
This award recognizes a University of Minnesota employee, postdoctoral associate, or graduate student who works with and has demonstrated special efforts on behalf of research animals. Nominations for the award were submitted by University colleagues, and each winner received a personal honorarium of $1,000.
Congratulations to the 2026 award recipients!
Dr. V Pszczolkowski is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology in the Medical School. They have worked with animals in the Alejandro Lab since September 2024.
“Dr. Pszczolkowski’s practices ensure that our animal model research is high-quality and reproducible while simultaneously maximizing the welfare and humane treatment of our animals.”
Zach Seeman is a researcher III in the Largaespada Lab in the Department of Pediatrics where he has worked with animals for nearly four years.
“His efforts have elevated the standard of care within our research projects and inspired me, along with many other lab members, to approach our work with both scientific rigor and empathy.”
