Research Animal Resources (RAR) is pleased to announce the promotion of Terresa Xiong to the position of associate director of Animal Care.
Terresa brings 14 years of dedicated experience within RAR to this leadership role. Having held various positions across the department over the last decade and a half, she possesses a deep institutional knowledge and a thorough understanding of the complexities of animal care within the University of Minnesota research environment.
For the past two years, Terresa served as our Animal Care manager. During a period without a formal Animal Care leader, she stepped forward to take on significant additional responsibilities. Her exceptional and resilient leadership during this time ensured operational stability and maintained our department's high standards of excellence.
Looking Ahead
In her new capacity, Terresa will join the RAR leadership team, where she will:
- Provide critical oversight and support for the Animal Care team.
- Foster collaborative relationships across the department.
- Strengthen partnerships with our valued university researchers.
Transition Plan
Terresa will begin the recruitment process for a new Animal Care manager in the near future. To ensure continuity of operations, she will balance her current manager duties with her new associate director responsibilities until the vacancy is filled.
