We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jen Hubbard as the Research Animal Resources (RAR) director of training, effective December 1, 2025. While the position is housed within RAR, Jen will collaborate closely with the IACUC and a wide range of University stakeholders to modernize and strengthen the training infrastructure.
Jen is uniquely qualified for this leadership role, having served as an RAR clinical veterinarian and as a long‑standing member of the IACUC for the past seven years. Her primary focus is to evolve the training experience by:
- Expanding access to online training materials and shared resources
- Streamlining training through more user‑friendly scheduling
- Enhancing access to digital training records
- Updating training content to allow flexibility based on varying skill levels
- Filling gaps in training resources and developing materials for all current and newly added species
Throughout January and early February, Jen will meet with stakeholders to better understand training needs across the University. These conversations will form the foundation for her upcoming recommendations to support program growth and improvement.
