The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) will begin accepting nominations on April 27 for the Research Technical Staff Award. Ten eligible staff members will receive a $2,000 honorarium recognizing their significant contributions and distinguished service to the UMN research community. Submissions are due June 1, 2026.
This award is open to staff who are involved in the practice of research or in support of faculty who are performing research. Eligible positions include research technicians, research associates/assistants, and research data management and analysis staff. Positions that are not eligible include tenured, tenure-track, clinical-track, and research-track faculty; administrators; postdocs; students; and RIO unit employees (including those in academic centers and institutes).
Nominations must be submitted via email to [email protected] with the subject line "RTS Award Nomination" by 5:00 p.m. CST on June 1, 2026. A complete submission requires the nominee's CV or resume (maximum of two pages) and two letters of support: one from a PI or supervisor, and one from another UMN employee.
