Maps don’t just show us where to go - they have the potential to transform our ways of seeing and understanding our world. Each year, the U-Spatial Mapping Prize celebrates great design and cartography through maps. This year's competition awarded nearly $2000 to nine recipients of the Mapping Prize. Selected entries were connected to research happening at the University of Minnesota and represented the proactive and innovative work across all disciplines.

The U-Spatial Mapping Prizes are made possible by a generous gift from U of M alumnus Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri.
