Looking for spatial data and maps?  Let the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) Geoportal be your first stop!

GIS Data

The BTAA Geoportal allows you to search for downloadable GIS data across dozens of government agencies and University libraries. The geographic scope of this data is primarily the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic Coast. Many of the datasets include previewable web services.

Scanned Maps

In addition to thousands of GIS datasets, the Geoportal also includes records for scanned historical maps from University library collections.  These maps date from the 16th to the 20th centuries and depict regions all over the world.

All of the items in the BTAA geoportal have been cataloged with spatial coordinates, data type, subjects, and place names.  Users can use a free text search, browse faceted categories, or zoom and pan an interactive map to find items.
