The RIO website, research.umn.edu, follows website best practices, meets modern design and technical standards, and strives to meet WCAG 2.0 accessibility recommendations. The RIO Governance Document contains essential information about the site; including roles and responsibilities, content standards, and accessibility information.
The website is managed by the OVPR Communications Team. Holly Santiago manages content/design functionality and handles day-to-day edit requests. Other Communication Team members provide back up support, collaboration, and guidance.
Website Requests
For all requests, please email [email protected]. Requests should include:
- Link to the page where changes are being requested and a description of the specific change needed
- Desired timeline of changes
- Description of who has requested, reviewed, and/or approved the change, or who NEEDS to review/approve a change
Minor changes (minor text edits, document replacements, link fixes, etc.) will be completed as soon as possible, responding to the request within 1-2 business days. Larger changes, the kind that impact other units or require more technical support, are reviewed by the communications team and timelines for completion may take several days or weeks.
Urgent requests should be marked as such in the subject line (example: "URGENT") and copied to the website manager (Holly, [email protected]).
A full explanation of maintenance and managing content is available in the Website Governance Document.

Performance Measurement & User Data
Data collected about our website and the people who visit it helps to inform decisions about our content strategy, to identify and troubleshoot issues, and to keep track of content across the many OVPR units. A variety of tools are used to assess the website's performance, but SME's and website owners can view their Google Analytics data via the OVPR Website Measurement Tool. Requests for data or help analyzing information should be directed to Holly Santiago ([email protected])
