Amanda Farris

Managing Director, NSF R2I2 National Office

Amanda Farris has worked to support climate adaptation and resilience in the Southeast and Midwest for over a decade with a focus on bridging the gap between knowledge and practical application. As Managing Director for NSF Regional Resilience Innovation Incubator (R2I2) National Office, Amanda is supporting a network of nineteen (19) teams across the country who are leading the way in implementing resilience solutions.

Throughout her career Amanda has helped to shape state and local climate adaptation strategies and bridge the gap between climate science and stakeholder communities through network building. She has pioneered citizen science initiatives to enhance drought monitoring and data collection through community involvement. And developed resilience metrics for the Minnesota Climate Adaptation Framework to build evaluation capacity and better understand and communicate the impact of climate adaptation and resilience work for communities.

Amanda previously worked as an Associate Director with the Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership and Program Manager with the Carolinas Integrated Sciences and Assessments team. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Resources Management from the University of South Carolina.
