Monthly Water Analysis
The 2011 edition of the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals” (Eighth Edition. Washington, DC: The National Academies Press) states that “Animals should have access to potable, uncontaminated drinking water according to their particular requirements.” It is important to recognize the significance of the relationship of water to the health and well-being of laboratory animals. Providing high-quality water to research animals will help to minimize experimental variables, and can have a positive effect on overall animal health.
Below researchers will find monthly water analysis for the two UMN main campuses where research animals are housed to use as a reference and for awareness of the quality of water being delivered to UMN research animals used in research and teaching.
