Contracts Manager

The Contracts Manager helps protect UMN’s intellectual property by the timely and efficient completion of agreements for which the Technology Commercialization office is responsible. This includes drafting, negotiating, reviewing agreements, and administering execution of agreements. These agreements include Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), Human Derived Material Transfer Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Plant Material Testing Agreements (PMTA), IP Waivers, and other agreements as needed.

Associate Patent Administrator

The Technology Commercialization Associate Patent Administrator will be responsible for many areas related to administration of Intellectual Property created by UMN Inventors. This role is critical for the Technology Commercialization office and requires a high level of organization and professionalism.

The focus of this position is to market University research technology and deliver successfully negotiated licensing agreements with existing or UMN start-up companies. The range of technologies includes materials, polymers, adhesives, chemical processes, biomass conversion, bio-based products, engines, and fluid power.

Technology Commercialization Fellowship

The Technology Commercialization Fellowship is a unique opportunity for those with an advanced degree (PhD, MS) in sciences, engineering or technology to gain valuable experience in technology transfer, marketing and licensing. A qualified candidate will work closely with Technology Portfolio Managers, Technology Licensing Officers and the Corporate Research Partnerships team to evaluate, market and license technologies as well as facilitate corporate research partnerships. The Tech Comm Fellow will gain experience in all aspects of technology transfer.
