Angie Conley

Director, Venture Center

Angie Conley serves as the Director of the Venture Center within the Technology Commercialization office at the University of Minnesota. In her role, she has ultimate leadership and management responsibility for the Venture Center business unit, setting the strategic direction, overseeing day-to-day operations, providing team supervision, along with having key individual contributor responsibilities.  She also plays a key role in the development of overarching strategies for Tech Comm and the Research and Innovation Office (RIO).

Angie is a seasoned medical device executive with over twenty years of experience, spanning from running early-stage startups to holding leadership roles at Medtronic. She is recognized as a visionary leader and strategist with proven success in securing investments and developing business partnerships to bring new technologies to market. Her leadership roles include developing and commercializing exoskeletons at Abilitech and Magic Arms; peripheral and neurovascular atherectomy devices at ev3/Covidien; external and implantable pacemakers and defibrillators, heart valves, instruments, and telemonitoring equipment at Medtronic.

As the founder and CEO of Abilitech Medical, Angie and her team won numerous awards, such as the Minnesota Cup Grand Prize and the Tekne Award, and they were selected to participate in three different business accelerators. She was individually recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and named one of the Top 50 Women in Business by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal. Angie is passionate about startups and building new technology solutions to improve patient lives.
