Danilo Segovia, Ph.D.

Danilo Segovia joined the Technology Commercialization Office in July 2026 as a Fellow. In this role, he collaborates with Technology Portfolio Managers and Technology Licensing Officers to help University inventors move their research toward the marketplace, assessing the intellectual property and commercial potential of new technologies while working with industry to support licensing and market strategy.

Before joining Technology Commercialization, Danilo completed his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Stony Brook University, conducting research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. His PhD research focused on RNA regulation and splicing. He went on to complete postdoctoral work at the Hospital for Special Surgery, studying osteoimmunology. Danilo also holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from Universidad de la República, and has combined his scientific background with training in financial analysis and customer discovery. Outside of work, Danilo enjoys skiing and playing the clarinet.
