Doug Franz joined Technology Commercialization after 35 years of product and business development experience with Hewlett Packard, Altek Medical, and Interyl Consulting.
Doug has extensive research and development experience with electronics, mechanics, optics, ASICs, firmware, and software systems. As manager and engineer, he contributed to the design and manufacture of imaging & printing peripherals, digital cameras, and medical devices. He lived 15 years in Asia and Europe establishing R&D labs, supply chains, and manufacturing product lines. As a consultant, he’s contributed to the Minnesota startup community and supported US companies expanding in Asia.
Doug received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Iowa State and a M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He is an inventor on several patents and was a recent NSF I-Corps Industry Mentor.
