Ian also supports the Venture Center in its mission to grow early-stage start-ups.

Before joining Technology Commercialization, Ian completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research focused on applying biomaterials and bioinformatics to longitudinally study metastatic cancer with the goal of improving cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Prior to his doctoral work, Ian earned his BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, where he applied protein engineering to develop cancer immunotherapeutics, specifically CAR T-cell therapy.
