FastBridge Learning, based on University of Minnesota research, has been acquired by Irvine, Calif.-based Illuminate Education Inc.
Minneapolis-based FastBridge Learning provides a system of assessments to screen and monitor K-12 instruction. The software that powers the service was developed by Theodore Christ, a professor at the U of M's College of Education and Human Development. He co-founded the company with Zoheb Borbora in 2015.
Illuminate Education makes student-data management systems. It serves 15 million students across the country, according to a news release disseminated Tuesday.
