On September 12, the Board of Regents and President Joan T.A. Gabel visited the University of Minnesota Genomics Center (UMGC). They received an overview of the importance of genomic analysis to a host of areas in the life sciences and medicine, including invasive species like zebra mussels, played a tabletop game simulating the work of large genomic sequencers, and toured UMGC lab facilities. Pictured are UMGC Laboratory Operations Manager Archane Deshpand, Regents Thomas Anderson and Janie Mayeron, UMGC Sequencing Service Manager Aaron Becker (obscured), and Vice President for Research Chris Cramer.
