On September 12, the Board of Regents and President Joan T.A. Gabel visited the University of Minnesota Genomics Center (UMGC). They received an overview of the importance of genomic analysis to a host of areas in the life sciences and medicine, including invasive species like zebra mussels, played a tabletop game simulating the work of large genomic sequencers, and toured UMGC lab facilities.
