Briscoe is responsible for, among other things, the university’s compliance with U.S. export controls. These are federal laws that govern a variety of sensitive activities having international components, such as shipments abroad, disclosing technology to non-U.S. personnel, travel to embargoed countries, and transactions with sanctioned persons and organizations. Briscoe offers both general classes and case-by-case guidance on export controls compliance and pens the occasional article discussing particular items of interest.
