On December 2, the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) held its winter celebration. Vice President for Clinical Affairs Jakub Tolar, Vice President for Research Chris Cramer, Assoc. Vice President for Research Michael Oakes, and HRPP Executive Director Debra Dykhuis celebrated the outstanding work of the HRPP staff and acknowledged its critical role in the University's research infrastructure. Over the last year the HRPP office significantly reduced IRB turnaround time, completed a survey of a research participants, and implemented a greatly expanded quality assurance program. The office continues to provide detailed monthly metrics on its website, setting a new industry standard for operational transparency.
