The Office of the Vice President for Research welcomes Shashank Priya as he assumes the role of vice president for research on Friday, September 30. In this role, Priya will oversee the $1+ billion UMN research enterprise, including units that administer sponsored projects, research and regulatory compliance, and technology commercialization, as well as 10 interdisciplinary academic centers and institutes and a growing corporate engagement portfolio.
Coming from Pennsylvania State University, where he served as associate vice president for research and director of strategic initiatives, Priya brings a wealth of experience in research and administration as well as enthusiasm for the depth and breadth of research expertise across the University.
